Clearing Your Browser's Cache and Cookies

Sometimes our browsers save data that is outdated, and it needs to be cleared. Neglecting to do so may result in issues accessing certain websites; this can be especially true for 3rd party sites we use in tandem with Blackboard.  Here is a guide on how to clear your browser's cache and cookies so you can access your 3rd party course materials.

Windows/Chrome

1. Open your Chrome browser and click the menu button at the top right corner (this looks like 3 vertical dots).

2. Click Settings from the menu that drops down.

3. Click Privacy and Security.

4. Click Clear Browsing Data.

5. Select the time range you wish to delete.

6. Check the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

7. Click Clear Browsing Data.

For Mac/Safari

1. Open your Safari browser and click the Safari menu in the top left corner.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click Privacy.

4. Click manage Website Data.

5. Select one or more websites, or click Remove All.

6. Click Remove or Remove Now.

7. Click Done.

8. Close the remaining dialogue box and press Command + Q to quit Safari.

Clearing your cache and cookies can help improve your browser's performance, and will allow you to access course materials if your browser has been storing old website data.
