How to Setup your YubiKey

Begin by entering a ticket with IT so that we may prepare your YubiKey for you.
This request type is located under "Special Access Requests" in the service Catalogue and it located here.

Once you have been given your YubiKey, follow the steps below. If you encounter any issues, please come to the IT HelpDesk at main campus, or the Student Services Desk at South Campus so that a member of IT can assist you.

Configure the Microsoft Passkey
1. Go to MyApps and sign in using your normal authentication method (such as Phone Passkey).
2. Click your profile picture in the upper-right corner and select View Account.
3. In the left menu, click Security Info.
4. Click Add Sign-in Method and select Passkey.
5. Click Next. On this screen, create a PIN containing at least six digits and click Next.
6. When prompted, touch the YubiKey.
7. Enter a nickname for the passkey.
8. Confirm that the passkey has been successfully created.
Test the Passkey
1. Open a new Incognito (Chrome) or InPrivate (Edge) browser window.
2. Navigate back to MyApps.
3. On the sign-in screen, click Sign-in Options.
4. Select the Face, Fingerprint, PIN, or Security Key option.
5. Choose Passkey.
6. Enter your PIN and follow the on-screen prompts.
If you are able to sign in successfully, your YubiKey setup is complete.
